Question : Excel Property Setting
Hi,
Is there a way I can set a sort of name property in excel that is read only.
E.g. I know that when I go to File--->Properties, I can edit some of the properties. Is there a way I can edit one of these, e.g. Summary, and have it that nobody else can re-edit it. So read only to everybody else?
(This is so that I can make a generic addin and the first thing it does is check what excel file it is using (file name is not good enough as users can change this), so I need a constant property that I know wont change.
Hope this makes sense...
Thanks.
Answer : Excel Property Setting
I don't think there is a way of making a specific field read-only. What you can do is make the entire file read-only. Or, you can protect it with a password.
Hope this helps.
