Question : Exchange 2010 Trans from Ex 2003

I have looked at Pete Long's article on Transition from Exchange 2003 to 2010 ( http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000234.htm ) and all seemed ok until I got to the checking 2010's OWA. When I changed the router to forward to the new Mail server, everything seemed to work when using the full Outlook, but OWA did not. So I put it back to the old server.

Now I'm stuck and do not know where to go from here. I had also forwarded the 2010 IIS HTTP to forward to the new servers HTTPS, but that does not help as it gives me a screen "Your request couldn't be completed because no server with the correct security settings was found to handle the request. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk."

I had also imported the SSL cert from the old server to the new one and see that that might be a problem as well. So as it stands right now. The old OWA works, and mail is flowing fine, but I have not moved any mailboxs yet, in fear of total exchange failure. Does anyone have an idea on where to go from here?

Answer : Exchange 2010 Trans from Ex 2003

when a 2003 mailbox user connects to https://mail.yourdomain.com/owa and the cas server detects the mailbox is on 2003 it looks at this attribute to send the request

step 5 from the above link
5.Configure the Exchange 2003 URL property on the /owa virtual directory. This is necessary for Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 to coexist. To configure this property, use the following command.

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory <CAS2010>\OWA* -Exchange2003URL https://legacy.contoso.com/exchange

Note:
You must enable forms-based authentication on the Exchange 2003 front-end server to allow your users to access their mailboxes through a single sign-on during the coexistence period.
