Question : Windows 2000 Logon as Service Error

Windows 2000 Server SP4

Yes I know it is old but thats not the issue

Everytime I restart the server I get this error

Type :            Error
Date :            7/22/2010
Time :            7:25:25 PM
Event :            7041
Source :            Service Control Manager
Category :      None
User :            N/A
Computer :      TGCS004
Description:
The MSADC service was unable to log on as OUR\Administrator with the currently configured
password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this
computer.

Service: MSADC
Domain and account: OUR\Administrator

This service account does not have the necessary user right "Log on as a service."

User Action

Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can
use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a
node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster
service account on all nodes in the cluster.

If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the
user right appears to be removed, a Group Policy object associated with this
node might be removing the right. Check with your domain administrator to find
out if this is happening.

after the server is up and running I modify the service logon info and password and it says logon service has been granted.

I have checked secpol.msc and the our\administrator is listed as a logon as service account

It seems that the info is not being saved for some reason.

Any ideas

Answer : Windows 2000 Logon as Service Error

SBS likes to have everything done with a wizard. If you create the users with the console or users and computers wizard, they will appear under the users. If you manually create them with Active Directory users and computers they will not show up in the console.
