Question : BDP Question
Hello guys!
I have a question about Branch distribution point and BITS transfer:
In site server I have installed and enabled IIS and bits. On the same server I have standard distribution point on which I have enabled bits.
I want to know if I have BDP installed on one of the computers on branch location and there is slow network, do I also have to install IIS and BITS there (on windows) or is it enough if I just enable bits replication for that bdp on site server ?
This is very important for me because we have slow network on that location and with BDP I can control bandwidth.
Thanks for helping.
Answer : BDP Question
IIS only needs to be installed on your site server. Essentially what the BDP does is the same as if you turned on BITS for all your clients and makes all transmission HTTP traffic. So no, you do not have to install IIS on BDPs.
