I suppose you can use JRO, but please understand that this performs a repair of a possibly corrupted database, and will thus simply delete primary keys, unique indexes, and relationships based on alphanumeric data.

This being said, I did provide the answer to your original question, namely how to read and set the Access property. This evolved into something else, but it's rude not to accept the solution.
