Question : "Invalid Partition Table" - What are my options?
An XP Pro SP3 computer stopped booting properly and displays an "Invalid Partition Table" message. Ultimate Boot CD recognizes the drive and I can access files, but running Recovery from the Windows XP CD does not. I want to at least attempt a fixboot and fixmbr. What are my options for rebuilding or fixing the MBR and getting this machine back online quickly?
Thanks.
Answer : "Invalid Partition Table" - What are my options?
The ASCII code of "*" is 2A (see
http://www.asciitable.com/
), so the command would be:
reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\O
ffice\11.0
\Common\Us
erInfo" /v "UserInfo" /t REG_BINARY /d "2a" /f
