Knowlton,
How are you doing?
The short answer to your question is no, you can’t add an image to the PDF header, which just provides text options.
1. You could add the header in the authoring program, let’s say you are making a picture in Adobe Photoshop or creating a document in MS Word, and then you would do it there.
2. However, you can add a watermark and move it all over the page, repeat it on other pages, so in essence, I think this would accomplish the same thing.
Please see attached:
EE_blank_Test_Document.pdf – this is what I started with, my “document”
EE_Logo.jpg – The image I want to be inserted into the “header”
EE_logo_as_watermark.pdf – This is the “solution” with the image in the “header” position.
To do this, open the document in Adobe Acrobat
Go to: Document – Watermark – Add:
Bottom of the Source box, (see screen shot below) you will see “File”, click this and then click “browse” to the right, so you can navigate to the image you want to use.
Then use the Position box towards the bottom to move the image, I selected “Vertical Distance” 0.1 Inches from Top.
If you need to adjust this to different pages, in the upper right hand corner you can use the “Page Range Options…” link to do this. Also, if you have multiple pages, you can use the “Preview Page 1 of n” located above the preview pane to see if the image falls on text or other images, etc.
Then save the PDF and you should be all set!
Hope this helps,
Kevin
