Question : Joomla homepage redirects to com_user

Hi ,
I have a joomla site and have articles active for the public view of index.php along with a image show, also enabled for public. On going to index.php, I am being directed to index.php?option=com_user&view=login&return=aHR0cDovL2l0aXBzLmNvbS5hdS9pbmRleC5waHA= where i see a error message "You must log in first".
I have tried to look for some reason as to why, as I can not view the straight index.php.  I am getting redirected to login. When I do log in and then log out, I am met with the same page and issue.I have checked public/restricted status on moI'd really appreciate any ideas.

Answer : Joomla homepage redirects to com_user

I had problems getting Office 2007 to install as well so thought there was some dll or configuration that was wrong. The user did not need any information as they just backed up their documents so I went ahead and just reloaded Windows. everything is working now.
