Question : Backup Exec remote agent (Access Denied)
I did a fresh install of Backup Exec 12. I didn't see a 12d so I think it's just 12. The steps are below.
1) I created a service account for all the services to start named svc.backup
2) This service account has local admin rights on the remote exchange server.
3)I wasn't able to do a remote push, kept saying access denied. So I did a manual install and rebooted.
4) I then set the backup exec remote agent to start under the svc.backup account, gave logon as service rights and restarted. It does have local admin rights on the exchange server.
Now in Backup Exec, I do see the servers in my favorites. Only every time I select them, I'm brought back to the account selection screen. Click it enough times and my accounts get locked out I think. I even tried my domain admin account with no luck. Access denied. I was able to \\net view with the accounts so RPC is good. I'm able to \\server\c$ so netbios is good? I don't know what else to check.
To reiterate, agents are on exchange starting under the service account which has local admin rights. From the backup server, I cannot select them under favorites or when manually inputing the servers.
I'm off work so I may not respond right away or be able to perform recommended suggestions but will do so first thing in the monring. Thanks everyone! :)
