Question : no display while booting Linux live cds for HP EliteBook 8440p

Hi all,

I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my laptop but while booting I dont see any display. I can hear the login music of Ubuntu but dont see the screen at all. Can anyone help me install.
The same happens for fedora 13 too.

Does your BIOS give you the option to select between integrated Intel GMA graphics and the Nvidia graphics adapter?
Then you should try with Nvidia disabled.
