Question : Laptop takes a long time to log-on away from the network

Hello All,
I have a laptop on a domain that I log on to at work. I take this laptop home to use off the network. My problem is that it takes a really long time to log onto my cached profile when I am not connected to the network. Is there a way to speed this up?
Laptop is running Window 7 ( Same issue on other laptops running windows XP )
