Question : Active directory GPO templates

Hi,

If I have a policy object in the parent OU, and then create a new one under a child OU under parent, would the child object ignore the parent object?

Only if the settings within the GPO differ.

For example, the parent GPO disables the screensaver and the child OU enables the screensaver, the child OU would win.
