Question : Windows 7 RDP Connection to an XP SP3 machine via RWW

Good day everyone,

I've got a strange issue with an XP machine that I am trying to RDP to via Remote Web Workplace.

My client was successfully doing this up until a few days ago when I identified and resolved an issue with group policy processing on the XP machine (it was trying to rename the Administrator account to an account that already exists, failing, then aborting GPO processing).

Now I can't get connected to the machine with her Windows 7 box. I can connect to the machine from my XP station at work, I can connect to another client's RWW and RDP to an XP station on the network, and I have tested another Windows 7 box with the connection I want to the XP machine to no avail.

I have narrowed it down to a GP issue but have no clue where to go from here. My next step is to disable UAC on the W7 box but I don't really want to do that as it's the end-user's PC and, well, end-users should have UAC enabled.

Let me know what information you need and I will post it.

Using TeamViewer for RDP will eliminate those headaches. It's free for personal use.
