The scroll bar in word has vanished, how do I get it back please?

In order to enable scroll bar, you need to go to tool/options/view and check horizontal and vertical scroll bar.

Try Tools > Options > View Tab. In the top section 'Show' make sure there is a check beside 'Horizontal scroll bar' and 'Vertical scroll bar'.
