Question : Installing a new CPU and adding more RAM to PC
Hi Experts,
I ordered a new CPU and more RAM to install in my PC. The mobo, everything will remain the same. Will I need to re-install XP after installing a new CPU and adding more RAM to my PC?
If I do need to re-install XP, couldn't I use Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack add-on so I wouldn't have to re-install XP? There is a feature called "Restore to Dissimilar Hardware".

Anybody use Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack add-on and used the "Restore to Dissimilar Hardware" feature?
How would I go about using the "Restore to Dissimilar Hardware" feature?
Thanks!
Answer : Installing a new CPU and adding more RAM to PC
Given that you are only upgrading the CPU and not the Motherboard, you shouldn't actually have to reinstall the OS.
Having said that, it would still be a good idea to take an image of your Hard Drive - just in case something goes wrong.
