Question : Resize a live OS partition whilst running! - Windows 2008
Hi Guys,
I think this is going to be a huge ask, but its worth a shot! - We have a Dell R300 server running Windows 2008 64bit with 2x 250GB hard drives in Mirror for redundancy. The disk is paritioned for OS and data and the OS partition is rapidly running out of space for a number of reasons (ive tried my best to get stuff pointing at the data partition).
I know that I need to resize this OS parition by about 30GB but the server is HEAVILY used and I would really like to avoid having ANY downtime. Ideally I would like to be able to extend the OS parition whilst keeping the server online.
I know this is a huge ask but are there any suggestions / ideas? Is there any way we can use the Mirrored/Redundant hot swap disks to our advantage in this situtation?
Ive never heard of anyone doing a live resize of a parition but im hoping it in some way possible.
Many thanks in advance. :)
