Question : MS Access decimal selection format for number doesn't show in query

When I have a field in a query and I right click and choose the format i.e. currency and then select the decimal places I want. Some of the fields do not have a decimal choice even though I have currency or other numeric format selected. Does anyone know how I can change this, otherwise I have to change it on every form etc.
