Question : VMWare Workstation 7.1 - Bridged Network Image

Hi,
I need help to connect my host PC to VMWare Image which is running a Browser based applllication. I need to access this application from my host PC via IE browser:
http://192.168.10.10

My eth0 settings in VMWare Wkstn. 7.1 shows:
Ethernet 0
DHCP:                         disabled                                     Status:  up
IP Address:                 192.168.10.10                           IP Mask:  255.255.255.000
Link Detected:              yes                                           Mode:   Auto disabled,  Full, 1000 Mbits/S
Duplicate  IP:                no

DNS
Not Configured
Gateway:                       192.168.10.1

My Host PC IP Address is provided by local cable company and set for DHCP.

I cannot ping 192.168.10.10 from my PC, thus cannot access the VMWare image.
When I check the Ethernet Setting of the VM Image it is set for Bridged Netwoking using vmnet0 interface.

What network settings would I need to enable on my PC so that I can access the VMware image.

Answer : VMWare Workstation 7.1 - Bridged Network Image

Yes you should be able to use that disk, there are a couple of recovery commands that I would try first :

fixboot

and

fixmbr

also have you tried starting up in safe mode? as the bios completes, press F8 until the safe mode option comes up. This will rule out unneeded driver issues but if your HDD is knackered you may have a bigger problem. If you have an external HDD caddy for a 2 1/2" drive, you can try and mount that as an external drive to get your data back or try and use ghost to image it onto a new drive (you will need to add switches that ignore errors on the disk)
