Question : Updating Linux Repo’s for Fedora Core 4

hi experts,

I am trying to update the PHP version in my VPS,  my hosting company said that I have to update  Linux Repo’s for Fedora Core 4 as shown in this link:
http://forums.hosting.com/showthread.php?t=16
but I can not follow the instructions...
how  can I create a /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-core.repo file and add a text?

thx

Answer : Updating Linux Repo’s for Fedora Core 4

Hmmm...it seems that the LSU FedoraLegacy server is down. Google has a cache of it for 3 July 2010. Don't know if it has become permanently unavailable or if it only a temporary thing.

Try the following :
In /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-core.repo replace the current baseurl line with :
baseurl=ftp://limestone.uoregon.edu/fedoralegacy/fedora/4/os/i386/

And in /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo replace the current baseurl line with :
baseurl=ftp://limestone.uoregon.edu/fedoralegacy/fedora/4/updates/i386/

Then try again. These sites seem to be still up. As torimar said, it is possible that even these repositories might not be able to update your PHP to a much newer version. Give it a try though...
