Question : Visual Studio 2008 versus Expression Blend?

I am taking a crash course in web development and see some of the videos on ASP.NET use Expression Blend.  But I use Visual Studio 2008 and think most companies do as well.

What are the differences between them?  What advantages are there using one or the other?
