Question : WSS 3.0 SP2 Errors

Please review this thread, and my latest post at the very bottom (posted by "Brian Miller" dated 07-16-10) for a quick update on what I've done to date . . . .

In addition, I've run the command: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\BIN>stsadm -o upgrade -inplace -forceupgrade

and then got this error:

Database state cannot be changed while other users are using the database 'Share
Point_Config_29c26fca-17b8-48c1-9704-b869932abcb6'
ALTER DATABASE statement failed.
sp_dboption command failed.

So, I'm *still* at a point where CompanyWeb will not work (error 404 page); however, RWW and OWA work just fine.  ISS is running fine. I suspect something is wrong with the ##SSEE SQL Database (??) but this beyond my level of expertise.  

My latest PSCDiagnositic log file is attached.   Can anyone decipher what is going on here?

I am also attaching a couple of screen-shots of various errors I get when running the SharePoint Config Wizard and when trying to connect to ##SSEE in SQL Server Studio Express

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Follow step by step so you dont miss anything this time.
