Question : Win 7 versus XP - is win 7 way better, more stable than xp?

A customer really likes xp but its unstable on a pc he has at the moment.
So new PC time.

Is it time to make the leap to win 7?  Is it that much better than xp?

His son does some gaming and its for general light office use.

Check first if the games and applications will run on Windows 7.

They may have to run in compatibility mode which is defeating the purpose of shifting to Windows 7.

If it is unstable on his present PC that is suggesting faults like hardware problems or software problems on the PC.  A cleanup, reformat and reinstall of software might fix all of the problems he is presently having.
