Question : how to add mx record in the name server

Dear Experts:

Iam planning to setup mail server, for this i registered the domain name abcgod.co.in in the nettigritty.com .now in the dns managment of the nettigrity.com i have to add the A record and the MX record. please help me how to do this. please suggest me is the following correct
-------------------------forward zone---------------------------
abcgod.co.in            IN         x.x.x.x
mail.abcgod.co.in      MX     125.17.156.88
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If the above entries are wrong please correct it . Iam confused should the domain name in the A record and the MX record have the prefix as mail or the mail prefix should be only in the mx record part. please help me in this.
