Question : Microsoft synthetic 3d Display Conntroler , Failed to power on

I'm trying to get a look at the new features of the SP 1  that has been released for Windows 2008 R2  and windows 7. So i installed a R2 with SP1 and Hyper V with a Windows 7 install.

Since i want to take a look at the RDP features i enabled the RemoteFX 3D Video Adapter on the VMguest OS and i get the following error when trying to start it.

An error occurred while attempting to start the selected virtual machine(s).
'WIN7_Pro' failed to start

Microsoft Synthetic 3D Display Controller (Instance ID {113560-48CD-4BD1-9929-FCE44E2B5D5}): Failed to Power on with Error: 'Unspecified Error'


The card in the server is a :  ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series. with newest drivers.

I was looking for a way to detect SLAT support in CPU but ended up on this.

This will tell us if SLAT is being used by your Win 2008 R2 box.
