Question : Windows media services - capabilities 2

We are looking for some assistance on the possibility of the following system having windows media services 2008 and Expression Encoder 4 Pro. (related to the question here - http://www.experts-exchange.com/Digital_Living/Digital_Music/Streaming_Media_Players/Q_26336631.html?cid=239).

Need to know whether following are possilble or require additional apps.

1. Ability to support streaming through firewall using HTTP protocols

2. Ability to control the maximum number of concurrent streams

3. Support for live event broadcast, video on demand, housekeeping, storage information and events scheduling information

4. Ability to stream the content intelligently to the users at the optimal bit rate .

5. should provide a slider bar for fast forward/backward and pause button for controlling video playback.

6. Ability to get the source that consist of - Video Camera, VCR, DVD, Prerecorded Windows media

7. Lastly how to figure out the number of concurrent connections and the recommended video bitrate for maximum quality. What do I need to know? Any resource would be appreciated

As long the lab network will in no way have any connectivity to the production network I don't see why you can't make copies of the DC VM's, and you can use the same IP's as you are now. The easiest way to make a copy is to shutdown the VM and use FastSCP.

You can use Lab Manager if you want to, but it seems like overkill for this.
