Question : Type castin from char to number

I have a substring value 1,600 from the simple query
I need to use this number to multiply the qty. But Oracle is returning error because of  this comma in 1,600. How can I avoid the comma

Sample data
name  strength
OTC   1,600 per mg

I am substr the stength  to get the 1,600

10.6.+ is Snow Leopard.

Check if you have the rights to a free Snow Leopard. You need an install disk to install Snow Leopard.
If not, it's not that expensive (compared to Windows at least).
