Question : ASUS P6T / Windows 7 64 Problem

Built up a machine with ASUS P6T MB, 6 GB OCZ 1600 DDR3 RAM and an Nvidia/PNY GT220 graphics card.

The machine works fine if I load Windows 7 32 bit, but Explorer crashes frequently if I load Windows 7 64 bit.

This is a fresh load of Windows 7 Ultimate with nothing else yet on the box excepting the ASUS 64bit drivers.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed debugging the machine.

It also blue screens frequently, and I saw something that looked like a windows 32.sys fly by on the screen.

Already downloaded the latest drivers and the most recent Flash ROM from Asustek.  Noting other comments I have seen here, the 8 pin power connector is plugged in.

Thanks

Answer : ASUS P6T / Windows 7 64 Problem

try running a memory test: www.memtest.org I'm guessing that the 32bit version can only use the first 4Gb RAM, the 64bit version can use the whole 6Gb, so if the problem is with one of the memory modules, then the problem only appears when you use the 64bit version. If the memory test doesn't find an error, try swapping out 1 memory module and see if you can isolate which module is causing the trouble.
