Question : Windows Server 2008 driver issues
Hi Guys,
Having some frustrating issues trying to get a platespin Windows 2008 image working.
The image was captured from a HP BL460G1 blade, and has been pushed to a HP BL460G6 blade, and has now also been pushed to a ESXi4.0 VM host, but both experience the same blue screen error when the server starts up (stop 0x0000007b (0xc00000034, 0x0000000000, 0x000000000)
This occurs whether any of the safe mode options are selected (the last driver it gets to is crcdisk.sys, although I know it might be a previous driver causingte problem) This applies to both blade and VM.
I can boot up and login using the last good config option however. When I do that on the VM (as Iogically that should have less 'new' drivers to configure), I then uninstall all the old HP disk & management software, and install the VM tools, but for some reason I still have loads of unknown devices, which I am surprised that windows 2008 does not recognise. But then when I reboot, I always get the BSOD.
The unknown devises are multiple PCI to PCI bridges (about 20!), and various other unknown devices.
The other weird thing is that as soon asI try and windows update it (the nic is working, and i thought that maybe it needed some MS drivers from there), it reboots the server.
Sorry for vagueness, been driving me mad as a) I can't work out what driver is causing the problem, and b) I'm surprirsed 2008 is having so much trouble identifying the hardware.
Thanks
Dave.
