Question : STP

Hi,

Iam adding a new alcatel switch In an existing cisco switch environment .After addtion of this is there any specific command to check on the cisco core switch if the newly added alcatel switch is in forwarding stage and no STP loop is occuring.I mean from cisco switch how can I verify the STP parameters are working fine after this addition.

Answer : STP

thy "show spannig-tree detai"l on cisco switch then check if there are any BPDUs recieved on the port connected to alcatel. If they are there then STP on alcatel is working.
