Question : Hotsyncing failure

Why is it whenever I synchronize my Tungsten E2 into Palm Desktop 6.2 (via cradle or bluetooth) and hotsync starts to synchronize the "Media",  hotsync hangs. I did the hotsync for several times and  I even wait for about an hour or so just to make sure I'm not being impatient with the process, but the hotsync just won't complete successfully.

I've just installed Palm Desktop 6.2 in my Windows XP Home edition. I did so because I wanted to integrate "holidates" from Outlook 2007. Yes, Outlook was able to update Palm Desktop and E2 with the holidates although the hotsync didn't entirely finish.

So how do I resolve this hotsync issue? Thanks in advance.

Answer : Hotsyncing failure

What happens if you disable the media conduit?  Does the HotSync finish on it's own?

You should see the blue/red HotSync icon in tray.
Click on the icon (if it is not present go to Start Button/All programs/Palm/HotSync Manager to start it) then choose "Settings".

In the left column of the screen that opens, choose "Applications".

Check off the little box that says "Show Details".  Now you can see how each conduit is set.

To change one of them, Highlight the conduit (in your case, "Media" ) then the "Configure button will come alive.  Click it, and change the setting.  (I have my Media conduit turned off - "Do Nothing" ).   To make the change permanent for each upcoming Hotsync, check the box that says "Set As Default" - otherwise the change will happen only once, then revert back.
