Question : Unable to locate SQL Server Management Studio
I have Microsoft SQL server installed in Windows 7 64-bit that presumably came with the installation of Visual studio 2008 professional and Visual studio 2010 ultimate. I am unable to locate SQL Server Mangement Studio that should reside in the "Microsoft SQL Server 2008" folder in the start menu. The only things I found there are
Import and Export Data (32-bit)
Configuration Tools. Which contains
SQL Server Configuration Manager
SQL Server Error and Usage Reporting
SQL Server Installation Center (64-bit)
SQL Server Installation Center
Answer : Unable to locate SQL Server Management Studio
The problem was a group policy set to install a help desk agent on all computers in the domain. It was corrupting the profile. I disabled the GP and the logoff times are alomot instantaneous.
