Question : MS Access Query:  Make one column out of several columns

Hello,

I'm not sure if this can be done but here goes:

I have a table with 6 fields, WStrip, WStrip2, WStrip3 and the value fields of WStripFt, WStrip2Ft, and WStrip3Ft.  The WStrip fields are the type of weatherstripping and the WstripFt fields are the footage.

Some parts have several types of weatherstrip which is why the table is set up this way.

Is it possible to construct a query that combines the data into two 'master' fields?  I don't mean concatenate but sort of stack the data?

For example what I have now is:
PARTID      Wstrip      WstripFt      Wstrip2      Wstrip2Ft      Wstrip3      Wstrip3Ft
GV545CW      GPB270      16000      GPB310      16000
GV451CW      GPB270      20000
GV466CW      GPB310      10000      DQ1010      10000      FK100      10000

I'd like to combine the fields to make a single list like this:
WSMaster      WSMasterFt
GPB270      16000
GPB270      20000
GPB310      10000
GPB310      16000
DQ1010      10000
FK100      10000

From here I plan to sum up the footage by type.

Thanks

Answer : MS Access Query:  Make one column out of several columns

I followed your link, but right now it does not appear as if you will successfully recover this install.

I would fix the fan first. Heat will burn your/her legs, ruin the finish on your table or desk, and cause all sorts of other problems with the motherboard and other hardware. It could easily cause your hard drive to fail prematurely. I hope that has not already started and is the cause for your current situation. Fix the fan first.

Then, install 7.
