Question : I am trying to browse my intranet using: \\lynda-laptop\{somesite registered in local IIS}\
I can ping my machine (lynda-laptop) using the IP address 192.168.1.105 from another machine without problems and I can ping other machines on my network without difficulty.
But when I try to browse I get 'Connection Reset' either with
http:\\lynda-laptop\falkon
powersport
s.com\
OR
http:\\192.168.1.105\falko
npowerspor
ts.com
OR just
http:\\192.168.1.105\
I have 4 machines I am trying to tie into an intranet, 2 vista 64s and 2 xp pro 32 bit. And I am really at a loss here.

Make sure windows firewall isn't blocking it.
Look under properties of your network connection -> advanced tab -> windows firewall.
Either turn of the firewall.. (Not the best recomendation) or create an exception for the webserver (Add Port).
