Question : Windows 7 clients cannot connect to the server

a few Windows XP machines for new Windows 7 Machines. we can do a remote install on the windows 7 machines, but the clients wont connect to the server. it is stuck on, "trying to locate server01" the windows XP machines still work.
The windows 7 machines have to other network problems to the server, network shares and printers all work.

we have tried disabling the windows firewall and virus scanner.
enabling/disabling Ipv6.
Remote install/manual install of ghost client

but this has no effect.
e are not trying to deploy a complete image, just the ghost console client, so that we can make a daily back-up of the machines.
the deployment is successful, but after the installation, they cant connect to the server.

Answer : Windows 7 clients cannot connect to the server

Hi,

quite often I have found that disabling the windows firewall in Win7 doesn't actually disable the firewall!
Ghost sends UDP traffic on ports 6666 and 6667, try sending up inbound and outbound rules that allow traffic for these ports.
