Question : I have a network  laser printer with two trays. How do I make each tray appear as a sepperate printer in Windows Server 2003?

We replaced a Ricoh laser printer with a newer model. Unfortunately a piece of software we use prevents a user from selecting between trays when printing. Each tray on the old printer was set up as a shared "printer" on the server. I'm not familiar on how to set it up this way. I can't add the same printer again, it says the IP port is already in use.

Hi, as you said you need to create two new printer which points to one physical printer. Once you created the first one with IP, don't need for second printer go to crate new TCP/IP. Just click on add printer and from the menu port list scroll down and you should see the IP address that you have already created. Choose that and then change the tray and name of this printer and shared it on the network.
