Question : Can you make/buy 8 pin pci-e for a video card

Morning EE, I want to move a video card to a different pc. That pc doesn't have modular plugs on the power supply. They are all hard wired. I have more than enough power (750w). The video card in there now is an 8800gt & will be replaced by a 280oc. The 8800gt uses 2x6 pin. The 280oc uses 1 6 pin & 1 8 pin plug. Can you make/buy 8 pin pci-e that will work. I have experience with soldering if needed. I have extra molex & 6 pin plugs on the power supply. Any questions just ask.    Thanks Ed

May be able to splice out 3 12-v+ lines and the grounds from molex and splice in to a 6+2 or 8 pin PCI-e. Scavenging from a dead supply would be the requirement here...

Or spend like 5 bucks and wait...
