Question : Stop Active Directory Replication

Hello,

I have replication issues with a 2000 server and 2003 server. These two servers are the only ones in the domain and split the FSMO roles. I want to transfer all FSMO roles to the 2003 server so I can extend the schema to 2008 and add a 2008 server to replace and remove the 2003 and 2000 servers. How do I stop replication from happening on the 2000 server? I need it up for another day so it will be up on the network, but after tomorrow it will be completely off. Any ideas?

Thank you

Answer : Stop Active Directory Replication

You can disable replication by repadmin

But the better option is you can seize the FSMO roles on 2003 DC & run dcpromo /forceremoval to remove the AD from windows 2000 DC.

Remove the entry from dns as well as msdcs folder inside dns.

Update schema & configure 2008 DC.
