Question : sharepoint wizard failed to connect to database server

All server firewall has been switched off. Database server, has TCP/IP enabled (tested its working!)

SharePoint Wizard Inputs

Database server: DATABASE1
Database name: SharePoint_Config
Username: MYDOMAIN\sharepointadmin
Password: mypassword

Note: the user MYDOMAIN\sharepointadmin is the current user logged into the sharepoint server, it is the user that is running the wizard, this user also has full database permission on DATABASE1 server, and has full administrators permission on the MS SharePoint Server.

Any idea, what is wrong?
