Question : Have to restart print spooler to print to HP Photosmart C7280

Hi,
I have a problem with printing from a vista laptop to a HP photosmart C7280 all-in-one printer.
The printer IS working off a windows XP pc no problems, this windows XP machine has recently had windows reinstalled.
The printer is connected via network with an IP address of 10.0.0.3 I have added the printer using the add new printer wizard in vista and used the latest driver off the HP website (just used the basic driver not the full software). I have also tried using the driver which vista automatically supplied but that had exactly the same problem..
The problem I get is when i send a job to the printer, the job starts to go into the print queue but doesnt completely get there (ie it sends about 35KB out of the 64KB job) then just says error printing.
To get the print job to finish going through and to then print all I have to do is stop and start the print spooler service, so i created a batch file on the desktop which is just basically;
net stop "print spooler"
net start "print spooler"

the batch file works fine, but its a pain to have to double click it every time I want to print, there must be a solution to my problem without having to reinstall vista from scratch?

To recap;
The printer does work perfectly as I also have it installed on a Windows XP machine
The printer is installed via network
Print gets stuck in queue with "error printing"
Have to stop and start print spooler then the printer starts printing.

Any ideas please??
