Question : How do I convert HDMI output to DVI ?
Hello Guys,
I have a Dell laptop which has a HDMI port. I purchased the laptop early this year. I also have a spare lcd monitor which accepts DVI & VGA as input. My laptop has vga output as well and I have connected my laptop to an external monitor.
Today I figured that why should I let me HDMI port go to waste. If I could connect my monitor to my laptop thru HDMI port rather than VGA I could get better output. But because my monitor does not have HDMI as input, I could get a HDMI to DVI converter.
I wanted to that using a converter HDMI -> DVI, if I connect my laptop output to monitor will I see DVI type results. Will I see better display than the VGA display I get right now. Is HDMI output quality same as DVI ?
Will be glad if anyone can answer, thus I can buy a HDMI->DVI converter it it makes a difference.
Thanks,
Cheers,
Saurabh

Generally you will get a better picture from DVI than VGA. Your results depends on the quality of the monitor, but I would personally use the DVI.
