Question : Shared calendar does not show appointments until refreshed

Hello,
I have a secretary that manages her boss' calendar with full permissions (not as a delegate).  When she first opens his calendar, it appears empty except for recurring appts.  If she toggles backward to another month then back to the current, the appointments show up.  Wierd huh?  I can duplicate the issue on another PC with my account assigned permission to this manager.  So it is not Outlook desktop related or related to her permissions.  The issue does not show if I open a different shared calendar, just this one manager's calendar.  I know it seems like not a big issue, but this executive and his secretary are adamant that I fix this.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

VB6 using COM. This part is yet not documented, but check out sample 3 that comes with the installation (C:\Program Files\ScimoreDB\Samples\VB\Sample3).
