Question : Dynamics AX 2009 - AOS Performance

I have 1 instance on a Windows 2008 x64 with 2 quad core processors and 16 GB memory.

In the task manager I see that 1 core is constantly used to 100 % by the AOS-Server whereas the othe cores have nothing to do. Users are complaining about poor performance.

How can I boost the AOS-Server performance?

Thanks for your help.

Answer : Dynamics AX 2009 - AOS Performance

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administritative Tools -> Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Server Configuration
in the performance tab you can setup the AOS to use more than one CPU. After you change the default settings you'll have to restart the AOS service.

Just in case the AOS is frequently crashing after you change processor affinity the best option would be to install a second AOS on the same machine and setup a single CPU per AOS.
