Question : BI vs regular report

can you provide an example of what kind of details does a BI report have that a general 'data report' may not have?

thanks

Answer : BI vs regular report

Business Intelligence refers many things.   Mostly, when talking about BI, you're talking about the underlying structures for the report - or if it's a report - it's from a non-canned report.

What you're referring to - is one of the following:

1) A Canned report with forecasting on BI Models
2) A Canned report with trending on BI Models
3) A Dashboard (exportable to report) which allows the user to drag/drop, slice/dice on different dimensions and choose different metrics
4) An interactive (non-canned) report which allows the user to drag/drop, slice/dice on different dimensions and choose different metrics

Business intelligence is a *very* encompassing word.  The difference isn't in the "details" but rather in the functionality.
