Question : Backbone switch best practice

I have configurer plenty of switch and routers but never used a real physical backbone switch and I was wondering what are the best practice.

Here's the thing: We are currently looking at buying a Brocade FastIron SX Series with 4 gigabit PoE Modules. There is a Management module with 12 gigabit ports. So here's my questions:

The Backbone will be used in the server room to connect all servers and computers and Ip Phones that  are patch there.

- What are the Management Module ports used for? Servers, uplinks?
- Where should I connect the serves Nics ?

Thanks for your help

Answer : Backbone switch best practice

The high speed managament modules are best used as links to the other switches for redundancy, high speed communications, and managment.
To uplink your servers, you can use any of the standard switch ports. But if you really want to break it down you can use Vlans, which is a good idea to segment the systems.
