Question : Fortigate 60 - Webfiltering - allow some users

Hi,

I have a fortigate 60 firewall on our network restricting access to youtube for internal users.
I'm wondering how I can add exceptions to this so that some users can access youtube?

I have tried a couple of options based on source IP addess in "administrator overides" but I still get the following while trying to visit youtube:

The URL you requested has been blocked and logged.
If you have a valid reason to view this site
please contact the IT Dept.
URL = www.youtube.com/ "


I'm wondering is there somewhere else that this filter may be configured where I would have to add an exception?

Answer : Fortigate 60 - Webfiltering - allow some users

There isn't an option for allowing an authorized override when using the URL filter, however, if you block youtube by category using the FortiGuard web filtering service you can choose "Allow Override" for the categories you need certain users to access. Just make sure their user group is flagged with the "Allow to create FortiGate web filtering overrides" option.

Also, youtube is in the "multimedia download" category.
