Question : Contents of "My documents" disappeared

Can't see any files in My Documents but can actually see them when I navigate to documents and setting/user. All exe files on the machine don;t work. Just get a message "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I'm suspecting malware but can't even run anything which may remove it.

There are other programs like exeHelper.com and a few registry scripts I have used to fix exe issues and then Iwas able to run my malware scans. Try the above article first and let us know if you make any progress.
