Question : Connecting two switches together
We have two ProCurve 51412zl switches, and VLAN's are setup on the first switch. For redundancy reasons I will be trunking both switches together however we do not have a premium license so I cannot setup VRRP. Is there any best practices on how I should be connecting both switches together as the primary is doing inter-vlan routing, between different subnets?
I believe I will have to update the routing table on the various devices, and add a higher weight to the route so it will act as a backup?
Thoughts?
Answer : Connecting two switches together
Still not sure of your topology...
If the only connection to the outside is through Switch-A then VRRP is irrelevant. Just build a trunk from Switch-B to Switch-A.
