Question : Anyone run an online backup software along side Ghost with no conflicts.

Hi All,

As the question points out, does anyone run Ghost (preferably Ghost 15) alongside an online backup program that plays nicely with each other?  Obviously they need to be scheduled at different times.

We have tried Carbonite and although it technically works, we have noticed that when Carbonite is running it starts VSS which also causes the SymSnap VSS service (which comes with Ghost) to start-up and that throws Event 57's in the system log if the Ghost destination drive isn't connected.

Before we start loading trials on our test machine, thought we would see if anyone runs a similiar setup and has no conflcits (and a clean system/application log in Windows when they both run).

Thanks!

Hm, rebooted, and the VSS services is started from bootup.  Jungledisk is not running a backup.

I'm running Windows XP, SP3.  As mentioned earlier, Ghost backups go to an external (USB) drive.

Running Jungledisk (and even starting a backup using Jungledisk) does not seem to cause any activity at all in the windows application log.  And, looking back over the past few days' log (with Jungeldisk running a backup each night), I see no "snapshots" going off, or other Symsnap-related behavior showing up in the application log (if you mean the one in Control Panel/Event Viewer).
