Question : Autocad LT 2006 (Not Responding)

Hello,

Been having a problem over the last few weeks with one of the Autocad LT users on our network.  We have 11 users in total and this is the only one having issues.  He's using Autocad LT 2006 (like all the other users) with Windows XP Pro, Mcafee AV and the following hardware:

2GB RAM (New)
160GB SATA HDD (New)
MSI P35 Neo Mobo
Nvidia 7 Series Geforce Card

What Happens:
He can be doing anything within Autocad LT and it will just suddenly stop responding, however the PC will not crash, you can ctrl-alt-delete and end task and then reopen ACLT.

What I've tried:
Reformat and clean install of windows replacing the HDD in the process and installing new 2GB Stick of RAM in place of the 2 x 512MB.

I'm struggling with this problem now, it "seems" like software problem yet i can't see how it keeps manifesting after a fresh install....

maybe a bad driver?

Any help/advice would be very appreciated!!

Answer : Autocad LT 2006 (Not Responding)

So, he is copying files from the server to a local drive, working on them, and then moving them back to the server? No problems? That does seem to point to something network-related. That only makes sense though if AutoCAD LT is somehow more sensitive to network performance/issues than the other apps you say work fine even when LT is locked up.

As a test, you could run a new patch cable from a different router or patch panel port. You could also try a different NIC. Has his current cable to the box suffered any foot or chair traffic?
