Question : Adding iSCSI store to existing ESXi 4.0 system?
Hi Folks
I've been running ESXi 4.0 on a DELL 2950 for some time now. The box has a two terabyte store made up of SAS drives installed in the DELL box and set to RAID 10. Has been working fine but now I have a customer who wants me to install a large server for them (500 gigabytes) which I don't have available on the existing box. So... my questions are:
How can I add an external (large) iSCSI or some other NAS to the unit?
Is ISCSI the way to go with this configuration?
Do I simply add the new store as a second datastore and if so how do I do that?
Does the addition have to be done at the console or, once the array has been networked, is there a way to do it from a remote location? I am some way from the Datacentre.
